Basic Program    

Duration: 3 Months

Cost:  $420.00 per month (including birds)                                                         
Program overview: To ensure your dog is ready for training, it must be at least six months of age to enter this program. Although designed to introduce your pup to its first level of training, this program is also suitable for older dogs who lack a trained response while retrieving.

Your retriever will be taught Formal Obedience, the Conditioned Retrieve,  E-Collar Conditioning and Simple Casting. Your dog  will also become a confident retriever on land and water.  He will be worked around decoys, field blinds, dog stands and from a boat, weather permitting.  At the end of this program, your retriever will deliver shot birds to hand in a business-like manner under common hunting conditions.

The commands learned will include Sit, Heel, Here, Hold, Fetch and Give.

In the last month of training owner involvement is encouraged and appreciated. 

  Intermediate Program

Duration: From 4-6 months (varies with each dog)

Cost: $420.00 per month (including birds)

Program overview:  The Intermediate Program continues where the Basic Program left off, developing your young dog into a fine retriever. It will also give us an idea if your dog will be able to meet the rigors of Hunt Test competition, if this is an avenue you wish to pursue.

We will advance the yard work skills taught in the Basic Program to include Pile Work, T-Patterns, Swim-By, and Pattern Blinds, transitioning into simple cold blinds.  Your dog will also be taught Steady-to-Shot, Multiple Land and Water Marks, and to Honor another working dog.

Owner involvement is highly encouraged in this program since handling your dog at this level requires more skill and timing. 

  Advanced Program

Duration: Indefinite

Cost: $420.00 per month (plus entry and handling fees)
                                               (including birds)

This program is neither for all dogs nor every owner. Your retriever must be of the highest intelligence and attitude to qualify for this program. This program will get your dog ready for AKC Masters or HRC Finished Hunt Test.  If your retriever is at this level we certainly do not need to explain to you the huge commitment that this program entails.
