Puppy Head-Start Program (NEW)

Duration: 2 weeks (This program runs from May 1st thru October 1st)

Cost:  $150 (including birds)
This 2 week program will help provide a solid foundation that will be used in later training to help produce a well rounded gun dog. The program consists of introduction to water, birds, loud noises - i.e gun shots, decoys, as well as socialization around new people and other dogs. Puppies must be 3 months of age.

   Basic Gun Dog Program

Duration: 3 Months

Cost:  $420.00 per month (including birds)                                                         
Program overview: To ensure your dog is ready for training, it must be at least five months of age to enter this program. Although designed to introduce your pup to its first level of formal training, this program is also suitable for older dogs who lack a trained response while retrieving.

Your retriever will be taught Formal Obedience, the Conditioned Retrieve, and E-Collar Conditioning. Your dog  will also become a confident retriever on land and water.  He will be worked around decoys, field blinds, dog stands and from a boat, weather permitting,  they will also be introduced to gun fire and worked with live birds. At the end of this program your dog will be running simple  marked retrieves on land as well as water and deliver them to hand.

  Intermediate Program

Duration: From 4-8 months (varies with each dog)

Cost: $420.00 per month (including birds)

Program overview:  The Intermediate Program continues where the Basic Program left off, developing your young dog into a fine retriever. It will also give us an idea if your dog will be able to meet the rigors of Hunt Test competition, if this is an avenue you wish to pursue.

We will advance the yard work skills taught in the Basic Program to include Pile Work, T-Patterns, Swim-By, and Pattern Blinds, transitioning into simple cold blinds.  Your dog will also be taught Steady-to-Shot, Multiple Land and Water Marks, and to Honor another working dog.

As a hunting companion, your dog will be a good all around worker and able to retrieve multiple marks, run simple cold blinds, quietly honor another dog working and be steady to shot.

  Advanced Program

Duration: Indefinite

Cost: $420.00 per month (plus any Hunt Test entry fees)
                                               (including birds)

If we fell your dog has a lot more to offer then just being a good all around hunting dog. We will be glad to discuss with you the benefits of having a dog with Advanced Hunt Test Titles. This program continues from where the Intermediate Programs leaves off. It also takes dedication from you to maintain this level.
